Enn einu sinni lenda farþegar Wow Air í algjörri martröð. Mynd Wow Air
Okkur var brugðið við að lesa nýlega ferðalýsingu á fésbókarvef Wow Air. Þar segir par farir sínar ekki sléttar og fjarri því. Ferðalagið sem hér segir (á ensku):
OUR STORY:
We checked in at Rome, FCO Airport, to depart to Iceland at 22:45 on Friday 24 July.
Inside at the Gate we were told the plane was delayed. All shops in the airport were now closing and we could not get any food. Then at 23:49 we received an email saying the plane was due to depart 02:00 25 July.
We waited for several more hours but then saw the Airport departure board showed a new departure time of 03:45 at Gate C4. At this stage there was no-one in the airport except for some cleaners and some other passengers waiting to fly.
At 03:45 the departures board then changed to show a new departure of 11:00 on 25 July and we received another email from WOW air also stating the departure was 11:00 on 25 July.
We had no food, no water and no information from anyone as all staff had gone.
Finally sometime after 11:00am the plane began to board but when we went to board we were told we should have gone back out of airport to collect our bags and check in AGAIN. We were told that our bags were now sitting in lost and found and we would have to board and our bags would be sent on a later flight.
When we boarded the flight we had to sit in plane for another two hours without air con in nearly 40 degrees temperature whilst waiting for bags to be loaded. A member of the cabin crew checked the baggage list and said that our bags were indeed on the flight.
However, when we arrived in Iceland, around 15:30 local time (over 14 hours late), our bags were not there. We spoke to the counter staff who had us complete a „Lost Baggage“ form and they said they would do their best to find our bags.
ALL attempts to call WOW air went to voicemail, even from the counter staff, as they only work Mon – Fri 9am to 5pm.
They provided us with a file reference number and this is the last we have heard.
We have no idea where our bags are and no response from WOW air.
The bags contain my personal and expensive work suits, shoes, jackets, dresses, creams, lotions, perfumes, etc and we are currently drawing up a full itinerary of items. There are also many sentimental items which can not be replaced including items of my wife’s deceased parents.
We were due to attend a wedding in Iceland which we arrived late for but we could only wear the dirty clothes we had been traveling in.
DOES WOW air care enough to contact us with any information? Is there anything further we can do? I have been advised to SEEK LEGAL ADVICE, not only for the lost baggage but for being placed in a situation where we had no access to food, safe drinking water or basic amenities for nearly 12 hours. Can anyone please help us?
Við vitum ekki hvað á að segja. Hvert einasta orð hér er hryllingur. Það er ekkert sem heitir að Wow Air verður að hífa upp um sig buxur því enginn er að eiga viðskipti við flugfélag sem kemur svona fram við fólk.
